Can't connect to MySql Server 4.1 on 'localhost' <10061>

I had the same problem. It was because I didn't enabled TCP/IP Networking through port 3306, when installing mysql.

Simply remove your mySQL. Then start installing it again. When it comes to configuration (it will ask you if you want to configure it after installation is complete) put a chekbox on Enable TCP/IP Networking (Port 3306 is offered by default, you can use it). That is all.

Also try to install it in C:/mysql directory with TCP/IP Networking enabled. I changed both the directory and TCP/IP Networking. So it may be because of directory as well. Try it if the TCP/IP only will not work.

Good luck.
