I have Win XP and ZoneAlarms too, so I tried to shut ZoneAlarms down, and then when the error appeared I restarted it again. However, it didn't ask for any access. I also tried to configure ZoneAlarm to allow all connections using TCP protocol, but that didn't work either. I tried reinstalling it and not running the configuration right after the installation, but that didn't work either. I also unistalled and deleted all the folders manually, and then installing it again, but that didn't work either. I also installed the ODBC connector but that didn't help. Another thing that I also tried was to copy the my.ini file to the windows folder but that didn't work either. Basically I tried all the solutions given here but they did'nt work. I used to have MySql 4 before I installed MySql 5 and it was working fine with the ZoneAlarm. I am starting to become desperated, please, what can I do???

Thank you.
