what version of MySQL has Archive storage engine support built in?

As far as I know, the archive storage engine is built in source code only. So, if I want to use this engine, I should build it from source code, and it is a problem since I have to build so many times on different OS platform.

So, my question is, what version has it built in? or any plan about that.
