Official release date for first MySQL Workbench alpha set

Hi,

the official release date for the first MySQL Workbench alpha has now been set to Monday, 12th of September. The inital releases will be for Windows and OS X.

Find a list of feature below. This will be update if needed.

MySQL Workbench Alpha release
-------------------------------------

Features include:

+ Working with schema objects (Tables, Views, Routine-Containers) and documentation objects (Layers, Notes, no images yet) on the canvas
+ Separation of database catalog and model
+ Multible model views

+ Relationships between tables based on foreign keys
+ Popup Editors

+ Reverse engineering of existing schemata
+ SQL script export


Features not in first alpha but coming later:

- Database Synchronization
- Inline editors
- Import of DBDesigner4 and ERwin models
- In database storage / workgroup management
- Structured datatype emulation
- Reverse engineering from SQL create scripts
- Reverse engineering of all data sources that are offered in the Migration Toolkit
- Support for MaxDB models

Most of the DBDesigner4 functionality should be covered already in the first alpha. A lot more features are coming.
