Hi Peter Pan,

"Now next question, if I have a schema which is not implemented in InnoDB (I guess its in MyISAM)"

have you checked? Maybe it uses innodb and the foreign keys just aren't defined.

"is there any way by just changing the engine type, and with some tool, it would deploy those constraints, and then I could view the conceptual model?"

Well, you would still be looking at a *data model* but yeah I see what you mean. All I can say is: yes, this is possible, but if all you want is a diagram, why not simply reverse engineer the model as is, and just add foreign keys in your model.

"One of my point here is, if we are saying Workbench is an ER tool,"

As I said before: I would not call it an ER tool, rather a data model diagramming tool.

"Isn't there any simpler way? may be dumping all the queries extracted from the code, to give at least a crude ER diagram which one can refine."

Well, that is somethin workbench cannot do for you. I can only reverse engineer schemas - it does not infer relationships based on queries
