Priority & Timeout

Hi guys,

i have 2 questions :

first, i wanna to know if it´s possible set some priority to some process running on mysql (process list). Why ? i have a system running with mysql 5.0 and this system has a lot of select clause and i need to run some upgrades some times (insert´s and updates). When i run the script to upgrade/insert at the firts 30 minutes becomes very fast, but when the system recieves a lot of select process becomes too slow, i know i´ts normal but becomes slow with no more process running / until end of script.

... and ... i want to set some "timeout" on my.cnf, when some process running for more then 100 seconds, i want mysql kill then.

Sorry about my english, and thanks for all with patience.
