MySQL 64bit for Intel x86 - EM64T

hi all,
I was wondering:
a) if there have been, in the x64 world, any clear performance differences between Intel x86 (w/ EM64T extensions), true Xeon x64, or AMD platform -- on comparable CPU speeds?

b) how would one go about building from source for these 3 platforms (and are all three platforms possible to build on, if so, a pointer/white paper is greatly appreciated).

Technically, I'd be more interested in the x86 (w/ EM64T extensions) or AMD platform, although probably the true Xeon x64 would be the best contender in the pack, if I'm not mistaken....

thx much,
Cos
