How to upgrade GIS snapshot.

Hello Folks,

I was planning to use the intersection function for one of my projects. I found out that there was a bug #32100 (refer http://forge.mysql.com/wiki/GIS_Functions) which has been fixed and they gave a link to the patch. So I found these binaries here. http://labs.mysql.com/index.php . I am now figuring out how to install these binaries. I searched a lot on the web .. but couldn't find the procedure. I already have mysql 5.1.32 running on my system (Fedora core 11 - AMD athlon i686) which was installed using RPMs. Here's the rpm -qa trace.

mysql-5.1.32-1.fc11.i586
qt-mysql-4.5.0-14.fc11.i586
mysql-embedded-5.1.32-1.fc11.i586
mysql-libs-5.1.32-1.fc11.i586
mysql-server-5.1.32-1.fc11.i586
php-mysql-5.2.9-2.fc11.i586

I have downloaded the i686 snapshot.. Now how to proceed further. My machine is a test bench, so I am ok with complete uninstall. But there is Debian Production server as well where we plan to upgrade this snapshot.

Folks please provide some reference as to how this thing can be done.
