I'm having the same problem here with Cygwin and MySQL 5.5.10.
I need to compile and install the MySQL source so that the MySQL Ruby gem will install properly:

I'm stuck at the dtoa.c.o stage, plus I'm unable to find stdlib.h. In fact, grep -R "EXFUN" * returns nothing.
