You cannot apply a source to a binary package. Presumably you downloaded and installed the cluster binary package at some point. You would have to apply it to the original source and then rebuild from source.

But then you might as well get the binary where it has been fixed. I see you must be running a very old version since this was fixed already in 2009 and is available in cluster 6.3.29 and 7.0.10.

From http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/cluster/ you can still get the latest of either 6.3 (6.3.51) or 7.0 (7.0.37).

If you're running a *newer* version of cluster then what you're seeing is probably another problem and this patch is not relevant.
