Cross-compiling MySQL for ARM

Hi everyone,

I have to start new thread with my question. I'm after over a day of compiling MySQL 8 from sources (linux generic package).

I need to use MySQL 8 on Raspberry Pi (Yes, i know there's MariaDB in repos, but i need MySQL. MariaDB 10.1 that's present in repo is in fact MySQL 5.5 or 5.6 - i need the MySQL 8).

Build for RPi2 on Raspbian 9 was unsuccessful (not enough memory, 32-bit processor & OS -> increasing swap is not an option, because it's just doesn't work, compiler can't address more than 3GB of memory).

The question is how to cross-compile MySQL 8 for ARM (in my case ARM7).
For now, i only have Rpi2, but if my tests will be successful I'll buy more powerful microcomputer.

I would like do that with my desktop computer, which is significantly faster.
