Thanks for the info Roel but I don't think triggers are exactly what I'm looking for. I'm afraid that what I'm looking for is probably pie in the sky but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

As you state a trigger activates when something happens... like an INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE. What I was looking for is a trigger that wakes up on its own based on the system time. If I have a datetime column that has that has an entry of 8/17/09 1:00:00 PM then this trigger (event) will wake up and fire when that time is reached. Thanks again for your post.
