Here's my thinking:

Events are stored in the mysql.event table, which uses MyISAM; thus any events created on a given SQL node would be run only by that SQL node. This makes that SQL node a single point of failure, and MySQL Cluster is supposed to be all about avoiding those.

If we were to copy the event table manually between SQL nodes, or to change this table to use the NDB storage engine so that it'd be automatically accessible to all SQL nodes, then *every* SQL node that was connected to the cluster would attempt to execute the same events at the same time. The results of this wouldn't be pretty, to say the least.
