VS 2010 dataset designer

My VS 2010 pro stopped working with MySql database. Some update must have caused the problem. The MySql.Data.dll in VS is version 6.9.8. But the connector installed is version 6.9.9. Is there any way to resolve this issue. I have tried many things, all to no avail. Thank you for any suggestions.
