Timezone related fields in DATE_FORMAT() specifiers

Dear all, hello! Health and Peace to all! Can anybody suggest ways to format and/or parse date text values (preferably for MySQL 8) offering timezone abbreviations (such as as GMT) and timezone numeric offsets (such as +02:00 and/or +0200)? I am talking about format specifiers %Z and %z respectively found in gnu date tool for linux.
