Hi Stephen,
Note that auto_buf_pool_size_in_gb is not directly settable, but is calculated based on server memory size.
Feel free to suggest a better method for calculation in a bug report at https:bugs.mysql.com/, perhaps as a feature request. You can also start a discussion on the topic in the InnoDB forum (
https://forums.mysql.com/list.php?22 ).
