MySQL is owned by Oracle, but it is not descended from Oracle nor does it promise to be a drop-in replacement for Oracle.

If you believe that the behaviour you're witnessing is contrary to the MySQL documentation, please file a bug report at https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php.
