Hello all..

i am hoping this is the correct place to ask this but this is what I'm looking to do.. I'm hoping if you can tell me if it is possible, and if so where to start looking for info on doing it..

I have a DB that I am using for article processing. One of the tables I have stores scanned PDF's in a blob field.. (I know this is not a good practice but i wanted the extra security MYSQL would give me...)

What i would like to do is every 6 months, write the table containing the PDF's to a cd. If it is needed again have my ap, this i can code, ask for cd #x and mysql mount the table on that cd as if it was part of the database.. Read only access is fine and expected, but I'm trying to find out how to "mount" the table on the CD without importing it into the database as a new table..

MAny thanks..
