Thanks for the feedback. I have left as default 4096 bytes (4K) for the allocation unit size as some further research revealed that increasing the allocation unit size to larger than 4K can cause issues in the long run with compression, defragmentation, etc.

As for the stripe size I am going to benchmark using 128K and 256K on the RAID to see what the differences are.

I just have to figure out how to effectively benchmark MySQL in a Win2003 box.... ;)
