This is very interesting!

I plan to do the following:

1. I have two filesystems: /dbdata and /dblog

2. I have the innodb files in the /dblog filesystem

3. The databse is in the /dbdata filesystem

4. I stop the database (mysql stop)

5. I perform a snapshot of only the /dbdata

6. I start the database again (mysql start)

My question is. Will the following scenario work?:

1. The next day I accedentially lose my /dbdata filesystem

2. I mount my snapshot from the other day as /dbdata

3. When I start the database again; What will happen? What do I have to do? Will it start? Can I restore all the transactions from my innodb files in my still intact /dblog directory?
