Thanks a lot, in the meantime, I had figured out the first solution you give, and went from about 2000ms to about 200ms execution time.
I'll look into the second solution and UNION ALL.
LIMIT 0,5 is indeed pagination, so I probably need a lecture - but I'll try to look for it myself, its probably a known problem if you call it a lecture.
Havent used SQL in a heavy load environment for about 10 years (and back then it was on MS-SQL...), so I'm a bit rusted.
