Rick: CUstomer field is not unique. Customer+Firstoccurrence would also be not unique. I could have multiple rows that correspond to same customer with the same firstoccurrence. Are you recommending against adding a index on a field that is not unique?
I am not sure I understand "plus you need to fix the partition boundaries". Can you provide more details.
