Indeed. On the usual definition of the word 'entity'. And there's nothing in database theory that prohibits including in that def collections like inventories. An inventory table is an entity.

A relational database is an organised collection of entities, and many an entity is itself a collection of entities, eg an OLAP fact table. Some entities are atomic, some are collections of atoms, some are collections of collections.
