profiling doesn't appear on 6.0.0-alpha-community-nt-debug MySQL Community Server

I've been trying to profile my queries as described in http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/articles/using-new-query-profiler.html.

console output:
mysql> set profiling=1;
ERROR 1193 (HY000): Unknown system variable 'profiling'


Am I using a wrong mysql version? or has the profiler been dropped from dev?
