Mysql needs to go back to the basics

In my opinion, the mysql line of products are always going to be second rate to other types of databases until they go back and shore up the fundamental basic building blocks of the phpmyadmin and mysql product. I know this is a free product but why create fancy new packages and functions that 99% of us don't care about and will never use, instead of going back and fixing problems in the basic phpmyadmin interface, unless the main group of developers look at this and think "Its Great just the way it is" without listening to critics about how many problems and issues there are in the standard issue phpmyadmin interface or mysql functionality that is no where near functionality of Sql Server or Oracle (both sport a more highly functional and thought out interface)
