getting error on install on solaris - ln: cannot create /usr/local/mysql: Operation not applicable

can anyone shed some light on how to get around this..i tried to manually create the li, didnt work..and tried as root to chmod this /usr/local dir..didnt work...im stuck, cant install mysql!?

ln: cannot create /usr/local/mysql: Operation not applicable
ERROR: can't create soft link /usr/local/mysql
pkgadd: ERROR: postinstall script did not complete successfully

Installation of <mysql> failed.

Anyhelp would be great!
