Frank,

Actually, this is a subject I've been meaning to investigate for some time.

We're looking at periodically moving document images and associated records off of our Linux MySQL production environment onto DVD or other media for backup purposes, with the intention of being able to pop the DVD into a Windows machine at a later date for search and retrieval of the same.

The backup media would have two tables containing records from the production environment for those document images on the backup media.

I'd be interested in your ideas.

Thanks
