hi jan,

i used mysql proxy for a customer who needed a tool to operate on synchronised databases on several locations in europe and russia. like 95% of the db operations are reads. due to the limited bandwith, high latency on the wan link and heavy db usage of this tool a centralized db was not feasible. mysql proxy together with mysql replication made it possible to realize a solution that offers maximum performance without needing to modify the application, and as a side effect the debug output showed some uncool behaviour of the mysql libraries used in the application.

so to conclude it: great tool :)
