Too much CPU Usage, Is it any optimize?

Hi,
I am running mysql-proxy 0.6.0 on FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE.
There is one master MySQL 5.0.45 with one slave MySQL 5.0.45. There are two web server with mysql-proxy on each server run with rw-splitting.lua. Server CPU is Dual XEON 2.4G.
At slave server, I used ``mtop -se 1'' to monitor the slave db. It is about 200-400 QPS. And two mysql-proxy process eat 25%~30% cpu at each server.
Is it possible to optimize it?
