I tried setting it up this way with no luck:

Here is my /etc/sysconfig/mysql-proxy:
LUA_PATH="/usr/local/share/mysql-proxy"
PROXY_OPTIONS="--daemon --proxy-lua-script=rw-splitting.lua --proxy-address=127.0.0.1:4040 --proxy-backend-addresses=192.168.1.245:3306 --proxy-read-only-backend-addresses=192.168.1.246:3306"


????
