Hi Patricio,
Are you running mysql proxy on a linux server?
If so, is there a chance you could run the proxy using valgrind or at least gdb?
Using those tools would give us some more details about why the proxy crashes.
P.S. I'll post back with instructions on how to use those debuggers.
