You can run it directly from the extracted zip file. It contains all the necessary libraries, there's not need to install anything.
The project team currently does not have the resources to provide installers, something like that would be an ideal community contribution, though.
CMake support is there and I guess someone could relatively easily put together an NSIS installer or similar for it.
