Concerning the disconnected clients, it's obvious than even if you use max_connections with a high number,mysql-proxy will stop because it's just for the moment not enough stable, maybe a little bug to fix.

Indeed even if you use the keepalive option and that you have the disconnected clients, you're also lose all the queries executed.

it's important to notify that r/w splitting it's just a proof of concept, do not use it in a real production.
