Can't start multiple instances of MySQL-Proxy on same machine

I'm wondering that I can't start multiple instances of MySQL-Proxy (with different listening ports, logs, pids, ... of course) on the same maschine.

Starting ...

> mysql-proxy --defaults-file=first.defaults.file
> mysql-proxy --defaults-file=second.defaults.file
> mysql-proxy --defaults-file=third.defaults.file

only one of them are active.

Question: Where's the problem, what can I do to start more than one instance of mysql-proxy?
