Can we use mysql fabric to failover and mysql proxy to enable rw splitting?

I know mysql fabric can be used to make automatic failover, and fabric provides connectors to applications.

While mysql proxy can be used to enable rw splitting and load balance.

So my question is can we bind them together? I want to have automatic failover and I want to have load balance.

Your ideas and solutions are really appreciated.
