Secure Transmission Using Memcached-Innodb Plugin

**cross - posted with Innodb board **

Has anyone had experience securing data in flight using the Memcached - Innodb plugin?

The documentation suggests that enabling SASL is the best practice, however it appears that this only provides an authentication mechanism. The data on the wire appears to be unencrypted -- I was hoping to apply TLS to the communication.

My current version is 5.6.14. I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

Thanks
