InnnoDB_Memcached Pluggin with SASL on Centos7

I am a newbie using mysql8 and I have following the documentation on how to set up the Memcached plugin with InnoDB, but now I'm stuck setting up SASL as the documentation for it is for Ubuntu and I'm using centos7 -
I have setup Memcached appropriately with support for SASL.
Now there's also something that I didn't quite understand, every InnoDB schema that I got into MySQL8.0 won't use the benefits of this setup by default? if not, what are the necessary steps to do so and does my application using php in case needs to have the SASL activated too besides the regular user:pssw for the DB used?.

Kind regards,
