creating a database

Hi, I'm a student at the university of applied sciences in Amsterdam, I have to create a database from my ERD in mysql workbench with the option 'forward engineer, but when I try to do this I get the following error: 'error connecting to database. Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'(10061). Can anybody help me out please.
