ODBC - MYSQL to MS Access

I would like to actually link my MYSQL data (tables) to MS Access so I can use the Access data entry features.

I can go through all the steps, except creating the DSN. I got through all of it except when the system requests "more information". I enter the localhost, root as the username, and my password. For the database I enter the name of the MYSQL database I'm attempting to link to. Then 'test'.

Error message says"Connection Failed [MySQL][ODBC 8.0(w) Driver]Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'(using password: YES):" If I try to create the DSN in the system folders, it says I'm not logged in as an administrator. Not sure how to get more administrator than I am.

I cannot get the ODBC connection between Access and MYSQL.

Any help will be appreciated.
