Workbench fails to export

Workbbench 5.09 OSS Beta

I created a pretty diagram, and filled in my table data types and I wanted to upload it to the server, so I chose File->export->forward engineer SQL script.

I tuned on view->advances->output and it said

However there is nothing in the file system, and there are no error messages.

I must be missing something, but if I am the UI is very poor, because this should be a trivial operation or there should be some indication what is wrong - thus I am stumped.

Any ideas appreciated.
