Re: Too Many Tables slow down the PC
We are aware of the heavy hardware resources Workbench currently needs when working with big models. That is the reason we wanted to introduce OpenGL support from the start. But because of problems with the libraries we used for WB 5.0 this broke printing functionality. Therefore we decided to deactivate OpenGL for WB 5.0. It will be activated in the next version again and then these problems will no longer exist.
For now the proposed approach is to divide a large number of schema objects into several smaller diagrams (<80 tables) that group objects that have a logical connection. This helps to keep organized. MySQL Workbench supports an unlimited number of diagrams in one model file.
