Model design view is pretty unusable

Hi everyone,

I was very excited to see this tool forked off of the old dbdesigner (sourceforge?). I decided to give the OSS version a try, and imported a project's schema into the system via creation script.

The schema itself has 106 tables, and the import went well, however..

1. It's absolutely horrendously slow. I'm running a dual core Intel (Extreme) CPU clocked at 3.4 ghz with 4gb of ram, have a fairly new 512 MB ATI video card, and I feel like the scrollbar is stuck in molasses. Entirely unusable. And using the auto-layout doesn't create a view where I can see all tables.

2. Zooming out in an effort to see all tables, shows only a black screen in the model area.

5.0.16 OSS RC
Revision 2874

Good luck with the RC development, I hope this tool can iron out the above!

Cheers & Thanks,
