Spatial columns

Hello. I'm starting with MySQL in order to build a geospatial database. I have read that MySQL supports spatial elements through "spatial extensions" (which, I guess, are included in the MySQL Server download). Also I'd like to design my database using MySQL Workbench. Well, I have downloaded everything, created a new table (using MyISAM storage engine) but I can't find the way to add spatial columns to my database. Only the common datatypes appear in the columns editor. Thanks a lot for your help!!
