Hi,

we are working on that. We have now re-enabled OpenGL in MySQL Workbench 5.1 for Linux and after testing it for a while we will apply the back-ported patch to MySQL Workbench 5.0 as well.

For now, my only advice is to break down a big diagram into several sub-diagrams. Remember that MySQL Workbench allows for an unlimited number of diagrams in one model file. There are cases when this is not possible of course, but in a lot of cases this provides an additional benefit when working with big schemata.
