MySQL Workbench is the successor to DBDesigner4 (both are created by Mike Zinner and his team).
Since WB is the successor to DBD4, we have built-in the ability to import from DBD4 into WB. We will not be working on the reverse. However, as both products are open source, the community is free to do it.
Also, MySQL Workbench 5.1 is natively available on Windows, Linux, Mac OS.
