#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

ok well im trying to set up a domain name for a forum im trying to put up im
on:
windows 7 32 bit
2 gb ram
dual core 2.86 ghz proccesor

and the problem is of course its rejecting me. and when all i did was add a password to root...
now im quirte mad considering i wasnt finished with the databases and i thougtht it would be est to set up a password now to prevent unwanted entry to the admin panel.
so please help me i am VERY new to mysql i would apriciate a very fast fix for my problem.

and i know my spelling sucks
