Re: Recover or reinstall MySQL Workbench
Thanks, Mike, for prompt reply, which pointed me in the right direction.
The problem was mine in having followed some WAMP users' advice to install Workbench in the WAMP\...\MYSQL folder rather than the normal install in C:\Programs\MYSQL. Believe I've fixed things by.
1. Renaming new WAMP folder temporarily
2. Restoring old WAMP folder used in original Workbench install
3. Uninstalling Workbench
4. Deleting old WAMP folder
5. Restoring new WAMP folder name
6. Downloading and installing latest Workbench version
7. Creating and configuring new server instance for localhost to WAMP\...\MYSQL...\my.ini
All seems working properly now.
Surprisingly, the new Workbench loaded with remembered entries for the server connections and EER models from the uninstalled version with paths to files in the backed up copy of the old WAMP folder. I deleted these before creating the new server instance. Then opened and saved the model files to new names in new folder.
Hope this helps others if have similar problem.
