Hi Paul,

I'm pretty sure this is a configuration issue, but it's really difficult to find out what exactly the problem is. We can at least check the log file to see where it actually fails. For that please install the latest version of MySQL Workbench (6.3.9 atm) and in the preferences -> Other section select the debug3 log level. Then run your remote management setup and when you get the error look in the log file (menu -> Help -> Show Log File) and see if you can spot anything that looks bad. You can also copy the last lines from the log here and I can try to find some hints.
