I found this link about MySQL logs:

http://www.pontikis.net/blog/how-and-when-to-enable-mysql-logs

It says:

"All log files are NOT enabled by default MySQL setup (except the error log on Windows). Default Debian setup sends Error log to syslog. The other log files are not enabled."

I'm not sure how to interpret this. Does this mean that error logs *would* go to syslog, once I enable them? Or do they already go there?

Also, can I expect to see client login failures in the error log, or would these errors go into the general query log?
