Changing data directory in workbench

I recently upgrade into the lastest SQL server 8.0 and workbench. I have a problem in changing my new data directory to new location from the default location to my new location such as E:/myData in workbench file option. Then having a "failed to connect into my sql server" as workbench is retart. How can I fix this problem?
